MASERMIC has made significant progress in the development of CSP solar plants in China. This includes the implementation of a cutting-edge communication architecture that enhances speed and security in data transmission between heliostats and the solar field’s control system (SCS).
The advanced control software developed by MASERMIC enables comprehensive management of the solar field, covering operations, monitoring, command, historical data, and maintenance. Additionally, an advanced software application has been developed for heliostat calibration, complemented by artificial vision systems that enable automated operation without manual intervention. This approach expedites the commissioning of the solar field and enhances operator safety.
To enhance the capabilities of commissioning, maintenance, and innovation in the solar field, MASERMIC has developed a Digital Twin of the Solar Field. This digital twin allows for simulation and validation of software developments during the engineering phase, enabling remote commissioning tasks and tests. Simulated operations aid in heliostat maintenance management and facilitate the development and validation of innovations before integration into the solar field’s systems. Following the success of the initial plant utilizing STELLIO heliostats, MASERMIC and SBP Sonne are overseeing the development of two new plants in China.
